Several members have written that agricultural emergencies (for example, locust attacks) are continuing in this time of the spread of coronavirus.  The virus is hampering the movement of many members, but seed-related emergency assessments are still urgently needed.

This email is sent to encourage the sharing of present activity plans and specific assessment reports and to stimulate future collaborative assessments.

  • Is anyone planning emergency seed assessments for the drought-affected areas of Zambia (I + IIb)?
  • Is anyone planning emergency seed assessments for the locust-affected areas of East/ Horn of Africa?

Quick replies would be very useful.  This is a good time to work together (and minimize health risks for all.)
